River of Life

Updated: Mar 5, 2024

The gentle strokes as you start rowing the boat in the vast waters.

The focus on the slow movement, often missing out on the flora and the fauna along the way.

Unfinished circles as you realise that everyone around is going way past.

Pushing through the motions, even though every cell in your body is screaming that they don’t want to.

Life jolts you into action. Like a bull attacks the colour red, you bolt off. You have miles and miles to go, before you sleep. Before you know it, you have mastered the dance of Life (At least that’s what you believe)

At the core of you, you’re still that little child, who wants to do things at her own pace.

The one craves to be cocooned and cuddled. Gurgle and smile. Be loved and understood. Forgiven, not forgotten.

The world doesn’t care. They want the street- smart version of you. The one that charms everyone with her wit, intellect and warmth.

The one that shows up for anyone who needs a dose of cheer and positivity. The one with the Midas touch who can turn around and fix any situation.

A wall builds around your core, your energy centre. As you navigate through the streams of duty, honour, love, guilt and shame, you rise and fall with ebb and flow of life.

You grow wings that help you fly high, giving you a zoomed- out view. Brand new perspective, as you sail through the mind- bending curves.

Diving deep in the valley of unknown, knowing fully well that your soul will be marked with bruises once you fully emerge, with a healthy helping of life lessons. Ironically, this is when feel most alive. The soul knows and remembers why you jumped right into the deliciousness of the moment.

The antidote to the pain lies in the experiencing and healing.

The divine power is contained in the core of our energy centre and the white light protects you as you make your way through the narrow crevices. It was always there- within you. All you had to do is invoke its name and activate the shield of energy.

As you tune into yourself, all parts of you- the good, the bad, the ugly, the better and the best, all merge into one.

The faster the flow tries to control you, the slower your pace gets.

You feel the peace and calm, finding the quiet in the midst of chaos. The greatest gift that life can offer.

Once you understand how to straddle between both these worlds, life can be a wild river, a thunderous storm, raging fire or a ground breaking earthquake- you will see yourself sitting right in the middle of it.

Smiling, like that little child, living life at her own pace.
